This information, together with the details of anyone traveling with you, is necessary to perform our contract with you and to comply with our legal obligations. Without it, we may not be able to provide all the services you request.

Information you give us to complete and manage your booking or another service you have requested, such as your name, address, email, contact details, date of birth, gender, passport number and payment information. The exact information required depends on the ferry operator’s requirements.

Information about your travel arrangements, such as your itinerary and other details of your booking.

Information about services we have provided to you in the past, including previous bookings and any feedback you have given us.

Information about your interactions with us, for example if you have entered a competition, signed up for a promotion or newsletter, or interacted with us on social media such as Instagram, Facebook or X.

To complete and manage your bookings and provide any other service you have requested.

To send you booking status updates, if requested, and service communications.

WHEN WILL WE SEND YOU MARKETING?

We may send you marketing emails to keep you up to date with our best offers and new ferry schedules and to help you find ferry ticket prices.

 

You can stop receiving marketing messages from us at any time by:

• clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email;
• replying to a marketing email asking to be unsubscribed; or
• contacting us at info@iloveferry.us.

 

We will update your details as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 2 business days for the change to take effect.

Unsubscribing from marketing messages does not stop service communications, such as booking confirmations and updates.

 

WHEN WILL WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH OTHERS?

When you make a booking, we need to share your personal information with the providers of the services you purchase (for example, the ferry operator or insurance providers). It may also be shared with other third parties, such as port authorities, customs and immigration authorities, where this is necessary to perform the ferry service.

 

We may also disclose information about you and your booking history:

(i) to companies related to I Love Ferry, for the purposes and under the terms of this Privacy Policy; and

(ii) if we are reorganized or sold to a third party, in which case your personal information may be transferred to that reorganized entity or third party for the purposes and under the terms of this Privacy Policy.

 

We will not sell your personal information or pass it to third parties (other than as described above) unless you have given us permission or it is necessary to provide the products and services you have ordered. For example, we share payment data with the payment service provider to process your payment.

Please include your name, your booking reference and a brief description of your request (this helps us locate your data more quickly). We will take all reasonable steps to confirm your identity before giving you any personal information.

 

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Our customer data is stored on servers located within the European Union. To perform our contract with you, we need to send some of your personal details to the ferry operator and to authorities outside the EU (for example, in the United States and the Bahamas). We limit the data transferred to what is strictly necessary to perform the contract.

 

Where required, we protect these transfers with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914).

 

DATA RETENTION AND ANONYMIZATION

We keep your personal information for 3 years from your last booking or interaction or, if longer, for any period required by our legal and regulatory obligations. After that, we anonymize the data so that it no longer identifies you.

 

INFORMATION SECURITY

We constantly review and improve our technical, physical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, accidental loss and destruction. For example, all information sent through our website, including payment details, is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
